Why should I join?

Moving as a team is fun and effective! It means you stay on track and encourage one another to achieve your goals!  A cash prize for reaching achievable goals makes the challenge super exciting. If your team achieves their goal of increasing their daily step count by 20%, your team wins!

What if all of the participating teams win?

Healthywage has a "no-lose" guarantee: If more than 75% of participating teams are successful, HealthyWage guarantees that all teammates on winning teams receive at least their entry fee back.

How does it work?

The WW Fitness Challenge is all about striving to improve your team's daily step count by 20% during a 30-day period. Each individual and team will have a personalized goal. Each team puts money into the jackpot, and at the end of the challenge that money (less 25% administration fee and any uncollected fee installments) is split among all members of the winning teams. The bigger the challenge, the bigger the cash prize!

Do I need a team?

Yes, the WW Fitness Challenge is a team-based step challenge—having a team is a great way to stay motivated. Move as a team and earn extra money! The more the merrier: more teams means a larger cash prize! Teams will consist of at least 2, to as many as 200 co-workers from within your department. 

Do my teammates have to be co-workers?

Yes. Get involved with your departmental co-workers and have a great time becoming more active together!

How many teammates make a complete team?

A complete team will consist of a minimum of two teammates, to as many as 200 of your departmental co-workers.

How do my co-workers join my team?

Ask them to visit the WW Fitness Challenge sign up page promoted on posters and/or emails at your office. They'll need to use the link shown to take part. After they register, they will select the team that corresponds with their work department from the list of teams to join that team.

How much does it cost?

The entry fee varies from employer to employer. The standard fee is $60 for each participant; however, WW has agreed to cover half of this cost The entry fee is used to fund the cash prize jackpot – the more players, the larger the cash prize!

When will my next payment installment occur?

If you selected to pay in installments (as opposed to one single payment), your account will be charged every 30 days. Please note payments are processed exactly 30 days apart and will not occur on the same date of each month.

How is my personal step goal determined?

It's easy - during the registration process, our system will look at your 45 day daily step history. To calculate your goal, we will place them in order from lowest to highest, choose the middle number, and add 20%. If there is not enough data, your goal will be 10,000 steps per day. How is my team's step goal determined?

Your team's challenge step goal is the sum of each teammate's Challenge Step Goal, which is 20% greater than their starting step count. See an example of this calculation in the table shown below:

If one teammate falls under his/her daily step goal, another member may be able to make up the difference. As long as the Team Total Steps is greater than or equal to the Team Challenge Step Goal, the team will win!

How do I track my steps?

Smart phone or Fitbit

For automatic syncing with HealthyWage, you need (1) a smartphone or a Fitbit tracking device, and (2) the free Fitbit app (this app uses your smartphone OR tracking device to track steps). During HealthyWage registration, you will connect your app to HealthyWage for automatic syncing. It's easy...and fun.

How do I connect my tracking device?

It's easy! You'll do it at the same time you set your step goal. Click here to register and connect your tracking device to find out what your goal will be! We'll walk you through it!  

How do you prevent cheating?

We aggressively police cheating. If we determine that someone has cheated, they will be removed from the program immediately and they will not be eligible to receive prizes.

How big is the jackpot?

That depends on how many people sign up.  The more participants, the larger the cash prize! Invite your co-workers to register today!

How does the jackpot get split?

The jackpot is split evenly between all teammates of winning teams regardless of team size. For example, if there are two winning teams and Team A has 9 teammates and Team B has 5 teammates, all 14 winners will split the jackpot evenly.

Is there a deadline for registering and syncing at the beginning of the contest?

No, but the longer you wait after the challenge starts, the less time you'll have to count your steps and reach your 20% goal.

When is the last day I can enter/sync my steps?

Once the challenge ends, you will still be allowed to enter steps for an additional 48 hours. For example, if the challenge ends on Tuesday July 5, 2016, you will have until 11:59pm (US Eastern time) on Thursday July 7th to enter/sync your steps for the challenge. Any steps entered/synced after this time will not be counted toward your goal.

I connected my device, but my steps are not syncing to the HealthyWage website.

What happens if someone on a team doesn't sync their tracking device?

If someone on your team doesn't sync their tracking device, that's okay—we will count their steps as 0 for purposes of computing your team's average step count. You can still reach your team's challenge goal if the rest of the team steps up its game.

What are the dots by my teammates' names?

The green, yellow and red challenge success indicators let you know how close you are toward achieving your Fitness challenge step goal. Your total number of steps is calculated, plus how many steps you need to hit so you and your team are on track to win. If you have a green dot - you are definitely on track. If you have a yellow dot - you are not too far off track. If you have a red dot - you need to step up your game because your team is counting on you.

Can I participate if I am pregnant?

No, but you can sign up if you've recently had your baby, and if your doctor says it's okay.

Can minors participate?

No. Only individuals over the age of 18 are allowed to participate.

Do I have to live in the same city as my teammates?

No. You and your teammates can live in different parts of the country or the world.

How do I know my payment information is secure?

HealthyWage is committed to protecting the security of your personal information, including payment information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, and disclosure. For example, all participant data is collected and transmitted over secured connections using 256-bit encryption. All pages on the HealthyWage website are served over SSL. All payment data is handled following rigorous Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards set by VISA, MasterCard, and American Express. We process payments via a highly reputable third-party payment processor and never store your sensitive payment information on our own system.

Can I get a refund?

Part of our job is to prevent you from giving up, so you can't quit -- there are absolutely no cancellations or refunds. HealthyWage will suspend your challenge if you are pregnant.

What if my tracking device didn’t sync and now I’m too far behind to win?

Don't fret. Your steps can be back-dated. Call or email us to see how you can get your steps counted!
