Team weight loss is exciting and effective because it harnesses the power of positive peer pressure, the excitement of achieving goals with teammates, and the thrill of competition and big cash prizes.
The Team Up to Slim Down Challenge is a three-month weight loss challenge from January 14 to April 8, 2019, in which teams of five compete to win cash prizes. Chubb has partnered with HealthyWage, a health and wellness company that provides weight loss and fitness challenges with cash prizes, to bring this challenge to Chubb.
The winning team is the one that loses the greatest percentage of weight during the challenge.
Yes. The entrance fee is $75. You can pay this in total or in installments of $25/month, for 3 months.
You can get a full refund of your registration fee if you lose 10% of your weigh-in weight six months after your challenge ends, or October 8, 2019. Around the six-month mark, you will receive an e-mail to submit a verified weight. If you have lost 10% of your initial weigh-in weight, you will receive a reimbursement from HealthyWage.
If you choose to pay in installments, you will pay the first installment with a credit card when you sign up, and the same credit card will be charged automatically 30 days and 60 days after your first transaction. Please note payments are processed exactly 30 days apart and will not occur on the same date of each month.
HealthyWage is committed to protecting the security of your personal information, including payment information. They use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, and disclosure. For example, all participant data is collected and transmitted over secured connections using 256-bit encryption.
All pages on the HealthyWage website are served over SSL. All payment data is handled following rigorous Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards set by VISA, MasterCard, and American Express. They process payments via a highly reputable third-party payment processor and never store your sensitive payment information on their own system.
The HealthyWage site allows you to participate in more than one challenge. We are encouraging you to focus on Chubb’s Team Up to Slim Down challenge, especially since there are prizes available only under this challenge for U.S. participants.
This Chubb challenge is only available to Chubb employees and spouses or domestic partners in the United States (including Puerto Rico) and Europe.
Yes, the website is also available in Spanish, French, French Canadian, Portuguese and German. The site will automatically display in the browser language you’ve selected.
The Team Up to Slim Down Challenge is based on team support and motivation, which provides accountability and success. To make it fun, HealthyWage provides weekly tips and tricks to help you and your team stay on track.
Yes, it's a team-based weight loss challenge. You can have your spouse, domestic partner or co-workers on your team. If you don't have a team of five, go to the Team Up to Slim Down Challenge site after registering for the challenge and follow instructions on forming a team, joining a team or asking to be matched up to form a team of five.
Ask them to visit the Team Up to Slim Down Challenge site. After they register, they can choose your team from a list of competing Chubb teams.
No. Just let them know that they need to register online on the Team Up to Slim Down Challenge site. After they register, they will arrive at the page with a list of teams and will be able to choose your team from the list of competing Chubb teams.
Once you're signed up for the challenge, email email@example.com for assistance. If you have one or two others who signed up with you, request those individuals to be on your team!
Teams will be locked and no changes will be allowed after January 28, 2019.
Yes, you should sign up and weigh-in no later than January 28, 2019.
You may switch teams within the first two weeks of the challenge – or until January 28, 2019. After this date, teams are locked down for the duration of the challenge.
This rule applies if, prior to starting your challenge, you won a prize of $200 or more in any single previous HealthyWage challenge. In that case, you must start your new challenge at or below the weight that you ended the last challenge in which you won a prize of $200 or more. If you start your new challenge at a higher weight, your starting weight will later be adjusted downward to the ending weight of the last challenge in which you won a prize of at least $200. HealthyWage has this rule to avoid encouraging repeat weight loss and to allow more people to take advantage of their programs.
Example: Nancy won $2,000 in the team challenge with an ending weight of 200 pounds. Then Nancy gained 20 pounds and started a HealthyWager with a starting weight of 220. Her starting weight for the HealthyWager will be adjusted downward to 200 pounds because she can't start a HealthyWager with a weight that is higher than her ending weight in any challenge in which she earned $200 or more. If her HealthyWager goal was to lose 30 pounds, she will need to weigh 170 in order to win (not 190).
You are eligible to participate if you are an active employee at Chubb as of January 28, 2019. Your employment status with Chubb after that will not impact the cash prizes that are awarded from HealthyWage. The Chubb-funded Peloton bikes are only available to U.S. employees who are actively employed by Chubb as of the date the prizes are awarded on or around April 30, 2019.
Yes. Your weigh-in at the beginning of the challenge must be verified by no later than January 28, 2019. Your final weigh-out at the end of the challenge must be measured by 11:50 PM (in your time zone) on the last day of the challenge.
The challenge requires two official verified weights – once at the beginning of the challenge and the other at the end of the challenge. But, you should weigh in every week to keep track of your progress and win ribbons that may help you and your team’s progress.
You have two options:
Download the HealthyWage mobile app (after you register) and follow the instructions to let a HealthyWage referee remotely witness your weigh-in. The process will take about two minutes.
Print the "Verify Me!" form from the Team Up to Slim Down Challenge Site and have a qualified witness sign the form after watching you step on the scale. Any doctor, nurse, health club staff member or Weight Watchers employee is qualified to be a witness. Then take a photo of the signed form and upload it to your HealthyWage account. You will need about 10 seconds of your witness' time.
If a member on your team has not verified his/her weigh-in by January 28, 2019, or has not verified his/her weigh-out by April 8, 2019, that person’s weight loss will not be counted in your team’s weight loss percentage. So, make sure you are aware of the status of your teammates by going to the teammate section on your dashboard and clicking the ‘i’ icon.
The average of each team member's weight loss percentage is rounded to the nearest tenth (for example 5.1743% would be rounded to 5.2%). An individual weight loss percentage is calculated by dividing the number of pounds lost by the starting weight.
Yes. In order to encourage healthy weight loss, we will only count weight loss up to 16.6% per person. Any individual weight loss beyond 16.59% does not count for the challenge. The winning team is the one where each team member gets closest to the cap.
Note: You will not be disqualified from the challenge if you lose more than 16.59%, but the extra weight you lose above 16.59% will not count toward your team's weight loss for the challenge. All of the weight you lose will count toward determining the winners of the two Peloton bikes that are being given away to the individuals who lose the most percentage of weight in the U.S.
For example: Mary loses 18%; Jill loses 14%, Max loses 15%, Danny loses 20%, and David loses 10%. The team average for the $10,000 challenge is 14.43% (16.59 + 14 + 15 + 16.59 + 10)/5. For the Peloton prize, Danny's weight loss of 20% will count towards the individual standings.
Ribbons are a fun way to keep track of your effort and achievement, and research shows that you're more likely to lose weight if you divide your goals into bite-size mini-goals. The ribbons take this concept to another level by making the mini-goals social (people can see when you earn a ribbon) and fun. You can earn ribbons for taking certain actions and for achieving certain milestones throughout the challenge, as well as via team-based achievements. For example, you will earn one weekly weigh-in ribbon for recording an unverified weight at least once per week (12:01am Sunday to 11:59pm Saturday, US Eastern Time) on the challenge site.
Ribbons are not required, but they are important because (1) they improve your likelihood of success; and (2) in the event that you are tied with another team in the challenge, the tie will be broken based on which team has earned the most ribbons ("team aggregate ribbon count").
NOTE: Please notify HealthyWage immediately if you think you are missing a ribbon! You must notify HealthyWage within seven days from the date the ribbon should have been awarded; otherwise, the ribbon is forfeited.
In the event of a tie for weight loss percentage, the team with the most team aggregate ribbon count wins. In the case of a tie for team aggregate ribbon count, the relevant prizes will be pooled and divided equally among the tied teams. For example, if two teams are tied for first, the first and second place prizes will be pooled and the total will be divided between the two teams (and the next highest-ranking team will get the third place prize). If four teams are tied, the first, second and third place prizes will be pooled and the total divided amongst the four teams. No other teams will win any prizes.
All determinations of winners will be managed by HealthyWage and are final – they cannot be appealed.
For the purposes of team aggregate ribbon counts, team ribbons will only count one time toward the team total, even though they are awarded to each individual on the team.
The team aggregate ribbon count for tie-breaker purposes is the sum of all teammates' "Individual Ribbons Won" plus "Team Ribbons Won." For example, a team of 5 may have 12 earned ribbons each, including one awarded for the 2% Team Weight Loss ribbon. Each individual on the team (5) will receive this team ribbon and it will count toward their personal ribbon totals, however only 1 ribbon will be counted in the team aggregate ribbon count (not 5). This team's ribbon total would be 11 personal ribbons x 5 teammates = 55, plus one team ribbon = 56. The team aggregate ribbon count for tie-breaker purposes can be found on the challenge leaderboard and under "Team Total Ribbons Won" on team profiles.
No. Each participant will need to cover the cost of their own registration fee.
You may not participate if you become pregnant. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to let HealthyWage know. To receive a reimbursement of your registration fee, you must submit proof of pregnancy from your clinic/doctor within 30 days. The remaining members’ weight loss percentages will be averaged for the purpose of the challenge.
You may not have bariatric surgery during the challenge or have had one up to one year prior to the beginning of the challenge. Diet pills may be used only with advanced Doctor approval. Contact email@example.com to discuss this before signing up.
