Slim to Win is a 12-week weight loss challenge in which teams of five compete to win cash prizes. There are prizes for the top three teams for each ATK business group Aerospace, Corporate, Defense and Sporting (12 team prizes) and then additional, individual cash prizes based on the number of employees who sign up.
For each ATK employee who signs up, $20 will be added to the pot. Prize dollars are funded by wellness credits ATK received from our vendors. Here’s how it works: If there are 3,000 ATK employees in the challenge, there will be a total of $60,000 in cash prizes. Wow! The bigger the number of employee participants, the bigger the pot of cash prizes!

Any active regular full-time or part-time ATK employees can play free of charge. Contract, project, retired ATK employees, and family members are not eligible to join. Employees do not need to be enrolled in an ATK Health Plan to participate.
The team prizes are based on the greatest percent of weight loss for the team of five from the same ATK business group. The top team in each business group will win $2,000 ($400 per person); 2nd place will win $1,500 ($300 per person); 3rd place will win $1,000 ($200 per person).
The individual prizes are $300 cash for the top individual employees by percent of weight loss. The number of individual winners depends on the number of people who sign up for the challenge. For instance, if there are 3,000 employees in the challenge, there will be $60,000 in total cash prizes. $18,000 will be paid to the top teams so $42,000 will be awarded to individual winners. Because each individual winner gets $300, there will be 140 winners of individual prizes companywide.
Winners will be announced November 5, 2014 and prizes will be awarded by November 14, 2014. Winners choose how to receive prizes: via PayPal or check from HealthyWage.
The prizes are considered taxable income. Check with your tax advisor. HealthyWage will issue a Form 1099 only for employees who win more than $600 in the challenge.
No. HealthyWage will not withhold taxes from your prize.

Yes. Slim to Win is a team challenge. While you can win individual prizes independent of your team, you must be on a team to take full advantage of the challenge. If you don’t have a team of five, don’t worry. HealthyWage will match you up with new friends in your business group when the challenge starts. We make sure everyone is on a team.

Yes, you have until August 18, 2014, but the longer you wait after the challenge starts, the less time you'll have to lose weight!
Yes—twice: once at the beginning of the challenge (August 4, 2014 through August 18, 2014) and once at the end (within two weeks of or on, October 27, 2014) of the program.
Note: You must get your weight verified before or after work, during scheduled work breaks, or over your lunch break.

We take the average of each team member's weight loss percentage. To calculate your individual weight loss percentage, take the number of pounds you have lost divided by your starting weight.
Yes. In order to encourage healthy weight loss, we only count weight loss up to 16.59% per person. Any individual weight loss beyond 16.59% does not count for the challenge. So, the winning team is the one where each team member gets closest to the cap. Note: it is OKAY to lose more than 16.59% (you won't be disqualified), but the extra weight you lose above 16.59% will not count toward your team's weight loss for the challenge.
Please remember: Weight loss is almost always a positive for your health, but it can have other effects too. Make sure you behave in a medically prudent manner and with advice from your physician as needed. This is particularly important if you are on any medication, as some drugs require different dosages based on your weight.
The focus of the weight loss challenge is on long-term, healthy weight loss. The weight-loss cap discourages excessive weight loss and ensures the focus of the challenge is on losing weight in a manageable manner. 16.59% is the equivalent of 1.5% per week compounded for 12 weeks. We apply the cap only at the end of the challenge because weight loss fluctuates weekly due to a variety of factors.
No, but you can sign up if you've recently had your baby and if your doctor says it's okay. Get in touch and we'll help you with this. If you become pregnant during your challenge, it is no longer appropriate to participate. You should email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will remove you from your team and find a replacement. If you enter a challenge while pregnant, you will be disqualified. Weight loss caused by giving birth does not count. Sorry, mom!
If you lose a teammate on the team for any reason, the captain should email email@example.com and we will match you up with new friends in your business group. We make sure everyone is on a team.

Ties are rare because there are so many factors at play. In the unlikely event of a tie, we’ll use the teams' mini-challenge results to help us decide the winner. All determinations of winners will be managed by HealthyWage (not ATK) and are final − they cannot be appealed.
No! You and your teammates can live in different parts of the country. You can get weighed-in at different gyms and/or by doctors or other health care/fitness professionals.
Yes, since team prizes are awarded based on business groups.
No. You are under no obligation to any health club weigh-in station. While we encourage you to support our sponsors and partners, weigh-ins are free and provided without obligation.
Only HealthyWage and your verifiers will see your actual weight (not even ATK). Only your name, photograph and percentage of weight loss will be visible to your team members and ATK’s administrators. However, if you win, that information will be made public as part of announcing the winners and awards.
