Food only adds to the stress! You eat it, then you feel guilt for eating it, then you eat more!!! I had to get back on the wagon after a horrible week of eating, so even if you have a bad day (or week), don't stress about it. You can reward yourself after a hard day with the kids, or after finishing a paper for school, by eating a snack sized suger-free jello snack (15 cal each)! We are all there with you, working on losing our weight, so don't give up!!! :)

I wonder if the pictures on the change as people join, like facebook friends, my guess it that there is not room for the 100 members in this group on the side of the page. One last thought does it say remove me, below the helth group tab, if not you have not joined this group.

Opps! Hit the post by mistake! The rest of that sentence was ....... but I definately need to lose weight. The hardest part was just getting started. The second hardest part of dieting is to start changing bad habits. In my case I was doing a lot of mindless habit eating and not making good food choices. The first few days were a little difficult, but I decided to attack one problem at a time....first, the mindless grazing and the worst of my food choices. Now I am going to start working on improving the nutritional quality of my diet.

Make sure you add protein to your salad--beans, a hard-boiled egg--so you'll have energy to carry you until the next meal. I also like to experiment with different low-cal dressings. And don't be afraid to toss unusual things in a salad, like slices of an orange. The tang is great with the greens! One last thing, the ingredients in a salad don't have to all be raw. I frequently "nuke" broccoli or a small potato and toss 'em on top of all of the other ingredients. Good luck, Charlie!

My wife and I are trying to do the contest but our doctor is unwilling to provide all of the personal information you are asking of her. Is this really on the up and up? There was a LOT of personal information you wanted from her.

Hey Elle, I know what you're saying, but that is info that they want about us. The doctors have to go on to register and give info about themselves. I guess we'll have to doctor shop now to find someone willing to sign off for us.

Hi Bob, sorry you're having trouble. We try to ask only what is neccesary to verify the doctors' identity. The extra info is a hassle, we know, but it is worth it to prevent any fraudsters from impersonating doctors, etc. Hope that helps.

All I saw on the doctor's form that was needed was your weight, height, BP, and cholesterol info. I don't see how that's "a lot." I hope there's not more than one form and I have the right one.

I am wondering how long it takes the weigh in results to show up on the computer. I weighed in about 9 hours ago... I am just hoping I did it right - and my entry will be valid. I am so excited!! I have lost 5 pounds this week!!

It's easy to tell whether you've weighed in---just click on "things I need to do" on top right (to the right of the timer), and you will see whether your weigh-in has been completed.

Throwing a healthy dinner party is a tough one. I like to start with grilled chicken or grilled fish, which form a nice low calorie foundation. I try to use spices instead of butter, oil and cheese, whenever possible. Fruits and sortbet or yogurt for dessert, instead of chocolate cake. Don't forget about a nice big salad!

Good Morning! Today marks one week on the program. Although I won't weigh-in until Tuesday I am sure I will be pleased with the results. Overall I have had a pretty good week. I have managed to control most of the cravings, eliminated most of the mindless eating, and by Friday had started exercising again. Hope everyone in the group has had a good week!

My weight has gotten out of control and I feel tired and awful most of the time. I want to look and feel great on my wedding day this year, and i want to be healthy enough to have kids and be around to see them grow up.

How do I enter and save a homemade item in the food journal? I tried the pantry but if you don't have a brand name it won't save it--just the message "item not found"

Elle, just below the search box the is an entry "can't find food". Click on the message beside it "enter food information". That will bring up a screen where you can enter a new food and the nutritional information. Hope this helps.
